چکیده
Abstract The lower bond strength of FRP bars to concrete compared steel has remained an unsolved barrier the widespread use FRP-reinforced under extreme loading. Additionally, degradation between reinforcement and concretes in aggressive environments adds existing concern. In this study, innovative anchorage system comprised polypropylene pipe was used strengthen seawater GFRP after 250 days exposure offshore environmental conditions. As material factors, two types (sand-coated ribbed) (normal concrete) were evaluated. Four distinct conditions assess samples: (i) ambient environment (control), (ii) tap water, (iii) seawater, (iv) wet-dry cycles seawater. According findings direct pull-out tests, suggested anchor strengthens shifts failure mode from bar rupture. cycles, GFRP-reinforced lost 5% its maximum (developed tensile stress). All other samples exposed different either increased or decreased by less than days, control samples.

Calibration of Bar-Concrete Bond Stress Relationships for Bond Stress Prediction of GFRP Soil Nails Using Experimental Pullout Tests
Even though steel bar is a conventional reinforcement in soil stabilization systems, the problem of corrosion of steel may lead to vast damages especially in aggressive environments. In the past decades, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) materials have offered an effective solution to overcome the corrosion problem. Despite numerous bond stress-displacement models for reinforcements in concrete, t...
متن کاملA Study on the Bond Strength between High Performance Concrete and Reinforcing Bar
As a preliminary study for the erection of floating structures using high performance concrete, this paper examines the bond characteristics between concrete and the reinforcing bar. Since the floating structure is constructed in aquatic environment, corrosion of the reinforcing steel is likely to develop more prematurely than in onshore structure in case of concrete cracking. A solution to thi...

This paper presents the findings of an experimental program aimed at investigating the strain distribution between Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) sheets and concrete. CFRP is used as externally bonded reinforcement for concrete structures to improve flexure and shear strength and confinement of concrete. The effects of bonded length, concrete strength, and number of plies (or stiffness)...

According to the report of the United Nations, it is said that two-third of world population would be influenced by water shortage before 2050. To use fresh water effectively, the usage of seawater in concrete industry seems imperative. However, the usage of seawater as concrete material is prohibited in almost all the standards or specifications around the world. In this article, the usage of ...
متن کاملEffect of Reinforcing Bar Contamination on Steel-Concrete Bond During Concrete Construction
Synopsis: During concrete construction, form oil, bond breaker, concrete splatter and other types of contaminants often contaminate reinforcement. Current specifications and quality control measures require the removal and clean up of these contaminants before the placement of concrete due to a concern of a reduction in bonding capacity. This is costly, labor intensive, and may not be necessary...
